The Stroke Association ready to rock in Liverpool
The Stroke Association is calling on Liverpool stroke survivors, carers and health professionals to take part in a new drumming project with Katumba, Liverpool’s renowned drumming and movement group.
The charity has paired with Katumba, the largest drum ensemble in the North West, to host an eight week drumming workshop. The two organisations will hold a free taster session on Thursday 14 September from 4pm-5pm at Fazakerley Community Centre, Formosa Drive in Liverpool, where people can learn more about the project. The course will then follow from Thursday 05 October at the same time and venue.
The workshops are open to everyone, regardless of age or ability, and will introduce people to the world of percussion and movement. Participants will get the chance to learn from facilitators who are professionals in their area, learn about the background of the style of music, and find out how it’s connected to its history in the UK and beyond.
