5 star homebuilder donates £1,000 to Leeds-based support group
Leeds-based support group, Little Hiccups, has received a £1,000 donation from local homebuilder Barratt Developments Yorkshire West as part of its monthly charity initiative.
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has encouraged registered charities across West Yorkshire to apply to its Community Fund, an initiative which sees a different charity receive up to £1,000 each month to aid the incredible work done at a local level.
Little Hiccups is a Leeds-based support group, set up by parents who have children with additional needs and disabilities. Through personal experience, Little Hiccups recognise the importance of giving the parents and families of a child with an additional need or disability the opportunity to meet those in a similar position, to make friends and support each other.
The £1,000 donation to Little Hiccups will fund their Family Fun Days and Stay n Play sessions, which offer a safe environment where families can share stories, experiences and support each other. Children are able to enjoy soft play, sensory rooms and sensory toys, suitable for all needs, in a relaxing atmosphere where they can play and discover the world at their own pace.
Linsay Medica, Founder of Little Hiccups said, “We are so grateful for the donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West. Little Hiccups provides an essential, judgement-free space for both parents and children to enjoy, and the £1,000 will help us continue to put on events for families to come together to learn and play.”
Ian Ruthven, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West added, “We are delighted to have been able to support Little Hiccups. The group provides much-needed emotional, practical or informative support for parents and we hope that our donation helps more families enjoy the range of events on offer.”
