67% of Brits are more excited to get back to the gym than eat out, shop or even hit the local
Sports nutrition brand, Myprotein, has revealed 67% of Brits are actually more excited about gyms reopening than they are about going for a pint, getting their hair cut or going out shopping.
So, to celebrate England’s impending return to the gym, Myprotein is giving away a free #BackInTheGym bundle worth £24 to everyone in the country ready for 12th April!
The packs include protein powder, a shaker, pre-workout, limited edition workout guide and more, with vegan options available too. Thousands of these bundles will be available for people to grab while they can from 3pm today, Wednesday and Thursday from here: https://www.myprotein.com/back-in-the-gym.list.
Despite the extended (mandatory!) break, 42% of Brits said they feel confident about returning to the gym, with this number jumping to 67% for those with pre-existing gym memberships.
When it comes to working out during the pandemic, 49% of people have made more of an effort to exercise over lockdown, with 41% saying they’re exercising more now, than beforehand.
Myprotein’s research also revealed that walking has been the most popular form of exercise in the past 12 months, with 60% of Brits taking to the pavements to keep their steps up and to keep moving. This was followed by running, bodyweight exercises and cycling.
One in three Brits bought a fitness product over lockdown, with workout clothes and trainers being the most common purchases. Gen Z (16–24-year-olds) are the age group most likely to have spent money on their fitness, with 69% buying something during lockdown, and that includes one in 10 having bought a hula-hoop following the renowned TikTok trend.
