Business Duo Launch the New World of Meeow – where the Business Cats Come to Chat

A new video networking platform called Meeow is set to be launched to the world on March 1st to provide an intimate forum for like-minded businesspeople to meet, chat and grow.

Created in response to the COVID lockdown, Meeow – a shortened version of Meet Now – it is an opportunity to meet new prospects or partners in a way that goes beyond traditional business networking forums.

The unique video networking tool provides a platform to match four strangers online and meet to discuss business issues, problems, the weather; anything they like.

The platform’s enhanced features present a choice at the end of the hour to connect on LinkedIn, move the chat to a private room, or go their separate ways.

Networking is one of the most successful ways of setting up and growing a business. Business forums and groups generated more than £19bn in business globally in 2019.

With COVID lockdowns severely restricting the ability to meet and chat, the opportunity to bring in new prospects or discuss common business problems has become severely restricted for businesses relying on networking to grow their client base.

The brainchild of Yorkshire duo Simon Glenn and Chris Rabbitt, Meeow is meeting the demands of the modern business world head-on.

Chris says: “Networking is a great way to build personal relationships, but it also takes time and effort. People need to plan time in their schedules for meetings away from the office, or more importantly, away from their families after work. It can also be quite intimidating for people who are not natural networkers.

“Meeow allows people to connect from their familiar surroundings. It also taps into the “new” world of working. During COVID we have become used to remote working. We have also discovered a lot of the benefits such as lower overhead costs, less time wasted in commuting, etc. But networking under traditional models just doesn’t transition well to the remote work arena.

“Meeow solves that by keeping networking rooms small, moving people around to see fresh faces and allowing natural connections to flourish.  It is the perfect way to extend a business network and meet new people and prospects at a time and pace that suits each individual.”

The limitations of traditional networking mean people tend to meet the same old faces once they have become established in a networking group or connect only with those they are seated with at one off networking events. Sometimes, online meeting forums can leave people feeling left out and unable to participate.

Meeow solves these issues by creating new opportunities.

By bringing four strangers together for an hour of networking, Meeow introduces a whole new group of people to each other. They can come together to network online from the comfort of their home or office, at whatever time suits them best and as many times as they like.

The Meeow platform encourages open conversation by using the power of conversational AI – with subtitles to guide conversations, suggestions for questions if people are stuck on what to say, or by providing an instant boost to get the conversation flowing.

Users can also report a user anonymously if they feel they are acting inappropriately during a session.

Meeow director Simon Glenn says “We’re all social cats. Some people are more comfortable with meeting new people than others. But Meeow will enable everyone to feel at ease when meeting new people and help the conversation flow.”

What kind of cat are you?

People have an innate need to meet and talk. In these COVID restricted times, this can be especially challenging.

Simon says: “We’re all different but at heart, we’re all social animals, especially when it comes to business. People have a natural need to meet and talk through problems or provide new avenues for business growth. Some are natural networkers. Others can find it hard. But a platform like Meeow allows you to meet people from within your comfort zone, in surroundings that are familiar to you.”

He has come up with four personality types. Which type of cat are you?

The Top Cat

The top cat loves the limelight and is the heart and soul of social gatherings. They will take the lead in discussions, make sure that everyone feels at home, and brings people into the heart of a conversation. No party is the same without a top cat.

The Shy Cat

The shy cat is the cool, reserved one – the cat that sits back and listens in to the conversation before making their move. They may appear shy and retiring, but they are quietly sussing out the room and assessing their options. Very often they prefer the intimacy of small groups. A party for four is perfect to make them feel at ease.

The Debonair Cat

Cool, sophisticated, and refined, the debonair cat brings a bit of class to the party. They have the experience and opinions to share with the group. Debonaire cat has the experience to help people move forward with their business.

The Chatty Cat

They might take a while to warm up, and Top Cat takes the lead, but once they start, they will be no stopping chatty cat. They want to know everything they can about a business, how it works and how it can be improved. Chatty cat is one to keep the conversation flowing.
