NURSERY CHILDREN STRIKE IT LUCKY WITH WARWICKSHIRE HOMEBUILDER’S DONATION OF FOOTBALLS
In celebration of the return of the Premier League, Barratt Homes has donated mini footballs to a nursery in Nuneaton to help its children stay active and engaged in sports.
Little Blossoms Day Nursery received 18 size zero footballs from its neighbourhood housebuilder, based nearby at The Long Shoot, to ensure the youngsters can enjoy their own sporting activities and the eagerly-awaited return of top flight football.
Barratt Homes’ donation was not only made to encourage young children to stay active, but also to provide them with greater opportunities for the social interaction they may have missed out on in the past 18 months.
Karen Jack, Nursery Director at Little Blossoms Day Nursery, said: “We’re very grateful for the donation of footballs and they’ll be enjoyed by our current and future children during active play.
“It’s important for us to ensure the children are engaged in a variety of activities that aid social interaction and we’d like to thank Barratt Homes for helping us to do just that.”
Whilst celebrating the start of the 2021-22 season of the Premier League, the donation of footballs also follows National Playday on 4th August, an annual awareness day which encourages active play in the UK.
This year’s theme was ‘Summer of Play’, which recognised the challenges children and young people have faced over the past year and the need to enjoy time for play with their friends, having fun.
Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “As a leading housebuilder, we aim to support the communities in which we build and this includes helping children to stay active and make the most of their social interaction.
“We hope the children at Little Blossoms Day Nursery enjoy using their footballs in the coming months.
