MARCUS RASHFORD CHALLENGES LADBABY TO COOK A SAUSAGE ROLL IN LATEST EPISODE OF FULL TIME MEALS
Ladbaby aka Mark Hoyle has teamed up with award winning chef Tom Kerridge and Premier League footballer Marcus Rashford on their latest episode of FullTime Meals.
The Michelin-starred chef and Manchester United striker are behind Full Time, an initiative backing the #EndChildFoodPoverty campaign that Marcus launched in September 2020 in partnership with his Child Food Poverty Taskforce.
Mark, who is the king of sausage rolls, was challenged by Rashford to cook Tom’s ultimate sausage roll and just about nailed it!
Tom has created 52, pocket friendly and seriously tasty recipes that the whole family can cook – dishes to fill hungry tummies. These recipes are simple and easy to follow with emphasis on limited equipment and inclusion of store cupboard goods with a longer shelf life.
The LadBaby family has been on a roll unleashing the power of sausage rolls to do good with their hilarious sausage roll songs, giving all proceeds to the Trussell Trust. Last year they became the third act in UK chart history, after The Beatles and the Spice Girls, to score three straight Christmas number one singles. Don’t Stop Me Eatin’ a pastry take on Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ followed by 2018’s We Built This City… On Sausage Rolls; and 2019’s I Love Sausage Rolls.
Mark was keen to get involved in the project to shine a light on the fact that too many kids go to bed with an empty stomach: 4.2 million in the UK – that’s 30% of children, with demand for food bank services having increased by 121%.
Mark says, ” There is a clear synergy with what Marcus and Tom are doing to highlight and end child food poverty and our work with the Trussell Trust, so when Marcus asked me to get involved I jumped at the chance. It’s devastating to know 4.2 million children in the UK are living in poverty. No child should go to bed hungry but today, far too many do. The pandemic has plunged many more families into poverty and the Trussell Trust are reporting a growing need for food banks. The proposed £20-a-week cut in Universal Credit could also push more than a million people through the doors of foodbanks this winter. How can this be right? We respect everything that Marcus is doing to get the message out there. Collectively, we all need to pull together and do what we can to help.”
