School of Communication Arts retains its title as the most awarded advertising school in the world with fresh influx of award wins
The School of Communication Arts (SCA) has concluded this year’s awards season with a spate of prestigious prizes to its name. As a result, the Brixton-based SCA has retained its position as the most awarded ad school in the world.
The SCA’s fresh collection of accolades features 17 D&AD New Blood awards – more than any other ad school or creative writing course that took part.
In addition to its New Blood awards, the SCA has also been honoured by a highly sought-after Black Pencil, which D&AD describes as “the ultimate creative accolade, reserved for ground-breaking work.” 2021 marks the fourth consecutive year in which the SCA has received a Black Pencil.
Though the SCA has met with remarkable success over its D&AD awards – the SCA is the only school to have won a Yellow, White, and Black Pencil for a single entry – the School has also been the recipient of eight Cream awards.
This means that 50 per cent of the Cream award winners – the best portfolio graduates in the industry – were students of the SCA.
Marc Lewis, Dean of the School of Communication Arts, said:
“This spectacular infusion of awards demonstrates the radical power of allowing students to foster their unique and maverick creative instincts.
The prestige of these awards is a reflection of the high calibre of the SCA’s partners and sponsors. Our students work alongside a quality network of partner organisations and notable names in the industry, so they are keenly attuned to the demands and insights of upper-echelon creative work.
Our mission has always been to offer students a creative education of the highest possible quality, while providing the industry with a vibrant and diverse new generation of exceptional talent. This phenomenal influx of awards is an affirming sign that we’re succeeded in that mission – and we shall continue to take the School to new and unprecedented heights.”
Offering both in-person and distance learning courses, the SCA provides students with a ten-month mixture of teaching, collaboration, and placements at renowned creative agencies.
80 per cent of the School’s graduates go on to secure their dream job within six months in roles such as copywriting and art direction.
