Former Miss Great Britain Gemma Garrett appointed awards boss
There will be a touch of glamour at a new community awards this year after former Miss Great Britain Gemma Garrett was appointed to the top job.
The model, 35 who also held the title Miss Belfast got the nod of being the National Director of the EssexTV Awards, the move will make her one of the most influential people in Essex with the awards already drawing nominations for top charities, business and talent locally.
A spokesperson for consortium backed Essex TV told us “We are pleased to have Gemma on-board, its an intriguing prospect for us and we cant wait to let her put her personal touch on the awards.”
Garrett made the headlines earlier this year after she hit back at disparaging comments made online about a new dating show about Northern Ireland beauty queens searching for love.
Details about her role at the EssexTV Awards have been tight lipped but it is thought she will manage the appointment and allocation of judges and will also co-host the physical awards later this year.
