THE SAFEST CARS TO DRIVE IN 2022 REVEALED
Finance specialists Carvine have recently revealed the safest cars to drive in 2022, as rated by the Euro NCAP. Throughout their rigorous testing, NCAP put the latest models through their paces through a series of crash tests and safety tech processes.
Some of the tests include head-on head crash simulations to assess how well the test car protects and insulates the occupants of both vehicles, the effectiveness of automatic emergency braking systems, and the passenger side’s side impact.
Among the vehicles tested, the NCAP produced the ‘Best in Class Cars of 2021’ list, showcasing today’s highest performing vehicles.
The latest Nissan Qashqai triumphed in the safety assist category, scoring an impressive 95%. Combined with the respectable 91% score for both adult and child protection categories, the Qashqai secured its place as one of the highest performing family SUVs of 2021.
Not to be outdone, the Mercedes-EQ EQS scored a staggering 96% for adult protection and 91% for child protection, respectively. This luxury electric vehicle (EV) also scored a solid 80% in the safety assist category. For all those looking for a decent range, the EQS can clock an impressive 450 miles before needing a re-charge.
Next comes the superb German export, the Genesis G80. It boasts a 5-star overall rating and topped the ‘good’ rating in all sub-categories, including an excellent 91% safety assist performance score.
Proving itself as one of the safest cars to drive in 2021, the Volkswagen ID.4 smoothly sails into 2022 with some of the highest NCAP scores. The desirable family car chalked up an impressive 93% for adult occupant protection and 89% for child protection.
The Skoda Enyaq iV shone as a good all-rounder SUV. Not only is this an all-electric powerhouse, but the Enyaq iV scored a staggering 94% adult occupant safety rating, 89% for child protection, and 82% for safety assist score.
But it is the brilliant Subaru Outback that shone in the safety assist category with 95%, 88% in the adult occupant and 89% in the child occupant ratings, respectively, making it one of the safest motors on the road.
Other top performers include the high-tech Polestar 2, the captivating Toyota Mirai that looks like a car of the future and the reliable Volkswagen Caddy.
Alex Thomas, a marketing executive for Carvine, commented: “There’s a reason why some of the top-performing NCAP scorers become all-time bestsellers. Not only do they tick all the safety boxes, but they tend to look the part too. With the motor industry moving towards all-electric, you can expect to see leaps and bounds in safety tech for the years to come.”
With the motoring industry evolving, one thing’s certain: the safest cars of 2022 are setting the bar high for their predecessors.
