The fastest growing brewery in the UK launches ‘refreshing’ recycling scheme
Embracing its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability, Pinter has launched a new recycling scheme allowing customers to recycle their pre-loved Pinter 1s. The ‘Refresh your Pinter’ initiative encourages customers to return their original Pinter 1 in exchange for a £50 voucher to redeem against a brand-new, re-engineered Pinter 2.
Pinter’s mission is to build an innovative, sustainable, and social world of Fresh Beer. In their quest to bring customers Fresh Beer in the most sustainable way, Pinter developed the ‘Refresh your Pinter’ initiative. The scheme will ensure all returned Pinter 1s are broken down and their materials sorted, separated, and reused for anything from new parts to renewable energy.
In addition to its new recycling program, Pinter engages in a wide array of efforts to help track and lessen the environmental impact of its brewing operation. Compared to one-use beer products, the Pinter uses 70% less packaging. When you make Fresh Beer with the Pinter, you’re also making a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions, compared to old school beer production methods. Since its launch, 3 million pints have been brewed using Pinter and over 5 million beer cans have been saved from entering the waste stream. And this is before taking into consideration the 75% delivery weight reduction (bottled beer is heavy), reducing transit emissions by 200%. Making it the UK’s most sustainable method of delivering beer to your home.
Pinter’s success supports the essential move to a more sustainable drinks industry. As a company set to achieve Net Zero, Pinter is driving innovation in all areas of the business to create the most efficient and sustainable way of bringing high-quality, award-winning Fresh Beer to UK homes and beyond. The Pinter and Fresh Presses were designed with sustainability at their heart. Pinter won the Footprint Sustainable Drink award and was shortlisted for the Food and Drink Federation, Sustainable Packaging Award. Pinter’s first impact report, to be published later this year, will provide further detail on how the team plan to continue to make significant environmental savings, reduce their impact on the planet and drive further innovation for increasingly eco-friendly products.
Alex Dixon, Chief Innovation Officer of Pinter said:
“It’s our responsibility to constantly evolve our practices to help reduce our environmental impact and offset where we can. We know that to be successful in the fight against climate change, everyone must get involved. That’s why, as part of our Sustainability Policy, we make sure to look beyond our own walls to work collaboratively with our community. By helping our community recycle their Pinter 1s through the Refresh your Pinter scheme, we’re streaming a critical part of the sustainability process that often sees products end up in landfill”.
