Ahead of an eagerly-anticipated launch, the first bricks have been laid at Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ brand new Oxfordshire development, Abbey Fields.

DWHS – SGB-13218 – (L-R) Campbell Gregg (Managing Director), Rob Allen (Sales Director) and Craig Leverton (Construction Director)

Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, was recently onsite to lay the bricks of the first properties of the 226-home community alongside Sales Director Rob Allen and Construction Director Craig Leverton.

The Dunmore Road development, which is set to deliver a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom properties, will also underpin approximately 452 jobs for local people during its time and will bring significant investment to the area.
Campbell said: “Our Abbey Fields development is starting to take shape nicely and we’re looking forward to unveiling a range of high quality properties for prospective buyers in this fantastic location.

“Throughout the development’s progression, we will be contributing to the local community through the new homes provided, jobs supported and our financial investment in the area’s facilities and services.

“We pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community at each of our new developments and we’re thrilled to have this opportunity to support the demand for new homes in Abingdon.”

Holding the claim to being the oldest continuously inhabited town in England, Abingdon offers a beautiful riverside retreat whilst having the benefit of Oxford’s many useful amenities close to home.

Homebuyers at Abbey Fields can enjoy having a community centre, pharmacy and a park on the doorstep. Growing families will also benefit from the Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Long Furlong Primary School.

Despite its tranquil edge of town location, Abbey Fields is in close proximity of Oxford city centre, bringing a wealth of retail and leisure opportunities closer to home.

The A34, M40 and A420 are well within reach for convenient access to major towns and cities, with Radley Railway Station just over two miles away for those wanting to commute by train.

Abingdon is home to local shops, restaurants and supermarkets such as Waitrose, and residents will also be able to enjoy nearby green spaces such as Abbey Meadows and Radley Lakes.

Anyone interested in securing their dream home at Abbey Fields is encouraged to register an interest ahead of the scheduled launch to secure first pick of the available properties.
