The Blackbyrds 5 night residency at Boisdale of Canary Wharf!

Boisdale of Canary Wharf and Yamaha Music London are proud to announce that iconic jazz funk pioneers, The Blackbyrds are gracing the stage for a 5-night residency at the end of October. The group will be taking the stage on Tues 25th, Weds 26th, Thurs 27th, Fri 28th and Sat 29th October for incredible performances of all their hits including “Walking In Rhythm”, “I Need You” and “Rock Creek Park”.

Assembled by legendary Donald Byrd in the mid-70s, The Blackbyrds laid the foundations for the jazz-funk movement, releasing a series of ageless albums that still serve as irresistible invitations onto the dancefloor. Cooking up some of the greasiest grooves ever heard, the band featured the finest musicians on the planet. They became one of the most influential outfits of all time with a seemingly endless succession of jazz funk classics including Rock Creek Park, Walking In Rhythm and Happy Music. Sampled by a who’s who of hip that goes from De La Soul all the way through to Massive Attack, the Blackbyrds are still at the very top of their game almost 50 years after they first got together.
