HISTORIC WWE EVENT LANDS IN LONDON NEXT WEEK

Next week, the WWE Universe will arrive in London, with The O2 Arena hosting Money In The Bank on Saturday, 1st July, 2023. It’s the first WWE Premium Live Event to be held in London in over two decades.

What is Money in the Bank?
“Money In The Bank” is a Premium Live Event by WWE. The iconic ‘Ladder Match’ originated at WrestleMania 21 and has since become its own major event, with separate matches for the men’s and women’s divisions. Money in the Bank 2023 will be the first Premium Live Event to be held in London in over two decades.

Money In The Bank is centred around a ladder match where Superstars compete to obtain a briefcase – displayed at the top of the ladder – which contains a contract. The contract allows for the winning Superstar to choose an opponent for a Championship Match, at a time and place of their choosing.

Where is Money in the Bank taking place?
Money in the Bank will be held at London’s O2 Arena.

When is Money in the Bank?
Money in the Bank is on Saturday 1st July. WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown will also air live from London’s O2 for the first time ever on Friday 30th June.

How do you win Money in the Bank?
The winner is the fastest one to ascend to the top of the ladder and snatch the briefcase.

What is the Prize for Money in the Bank?
A contract for a Championship Match at a time and place of their choosing anytime within the next year, from the night they win the briefcase.

What if the contract is not used?
If the contract is not used within that year, it is voided (if this happened, it would be a first). Only the holder of the Money in the Bank contract can be the one to cash in the contract.

Who are the previous winners of Money in the Bank?
The 2022 winners were Austin Theory and Liv Morgan.

The first Money in the Bank winner was Edge, who won in 2005 when the Premium Live Event was introduced. He cashed in his contract against John Cena and successfully won the WWE Championship as a result. Other winners have included Rob Van Dam in 2006, The Miz in 2010 and Seth Rollins in 2014.
