Dandara appoints new managing director to house building board

Independent housebuilder Dandara has promoted Chris Higgins to the role of Managing Director for Land and Partnerships as the property developer looks to strengthen its presence in the UK land market. He will be joining the House Building Board where he will have responsibility for the acquisition of immediate and strategic land, as well as running the partnerships function for the Homes business.

Chris said: “I’m delighted to have joined the leadership team at Dandara, particularly at a time when we are looking to develop our short and medium term landbank. As well as being a highly reputable new-homes provider, we are also well established in the BTR and SFH markets, this operational diversity gives us tremendous agility in the marketplace.

Chris joined Dandara in 2012 and has spent the past six years as Land Director for its Northern Home Counties Region.

Commenting on his new role, Chris said: “We already have broad coverage and a great operational footprint across the UK, including Central and Southern England, Wales and Scotland. Primarily my new role will be to help reinforce the existing operations, but we absolutely do intend to take the business into new regional geographies in England.

“I’m greatly looking forward to working with all our regional business units, helping them to implement our growth strategy and group land targets over the coming years.”

Trevor Dempsey, Dandara CEO, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Chris to his new role and the House Building Board, I see the position as strategically significant to our planned organic growth. Chris has been an instrumental member of our land team for many years, and I look forward to working closely with him.
