Jack Valero has announced a UK headline tour this October.
Swiftly following the release of his upcoming debut EP ‘This Is A Nightmare’, Jack and his full live band will be hitting the road for a succession of shows in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, and Sheffield, between 13th-20th October. Jack will also headline London’s The Grace on 1st December. Full details below.
Since signing to Modern Sky UK (Lottery Winners, Slow Readers Club, Jamie Webster), London born, Brighton based, Jack Valero has hit the ground running this year. His recent singles “Temporary Helplessness”, “Pull Back The Hammer” and “Catch My Soul” have powered up with a bigger live sound infusing classic, old school British song-writing with a timeless American rock sound creating a transatlantic indie-rock mash-up without losing any of the astute, poetic lyricism of his initial releases – a sound he’s been perfecting at recent sets at festivals like SXSW in Austin, Glastonbury and Kendal Calling.
Bringing that energy to venues across the UK this Autumn, tickets for all of Jack Valero’s headline dates will go on sale

With the release of the EP just around the corner (out 15 Sept, on Modern Sky UK), Jack has recently shared the single “Catch My Soul’ with the title track ‘This Is A Nightmare’ to follow in Sept. Earning early grassroots support from the likes of Amazing Radio (Jim Gellatly), Radio X (John Kennedy), not to mention XS Manchester’s ‘Record of the Week’, the track finds Jack pushing his sound to new limits with out and out, unashamed pure guitar music.
Produced by Romeo Stodart of the Magic Numbers, it’s a track that goes in hard-and-heavy with a rush of ragged blues and timeless rock ‘n’ roll at full throttle. With a retro style that’s matched with a freshness of intensity, Jack’s prominent vocal leads the charge and holds nothing back. Speaking about “Catch My Soul”, Jack says:
“This song is about a more reckless time of my life when I was going out too much and doing too much. The idea of Catch My Soul is delving into the desperate point when I felt like it was taking over and I needed someone to ‘catch my soul’ and save me before it was too late.”
The accompanying “Catch My Soul” video reflects Jack’s love of cinematic juxtaposition with sweet and sour imagery versus the darker lyrical content. The video imagines Jack and bandmates Maxine Cahill (bass), Theo Williams-Burchell (drums) and Amie Shouler (backing vocals) as the unlikeliest of criminal gangs. Armed to the teeth with foam guns, the foursome plot a heist at a toy shop in Brighton.

“Catch My Soul” is the latest track from the upcoming ‘This Is A Nightmare’ EP. The five songs on the EP were all written by Jack, recorded at Echo Zoo Studios in Eastbourne, produced by Romeo Stodart (The Magic Numbers) and engineered by Dave Izumi. It will be released by Liverpool based label Modern Sky UK. Speaking about the upcoming release, Modern Sky CEO David Pichilingi says:
“We are so happy to welcome Jack to our Modern Sky family. At Modern Sky we are not genre led – we simply sign great artists who write great songs with great stories to tell. Jack fits this bill perfectly. We are very excited to be working with him on the start of his journey and look forward to creating beautiful stories together.”
Jack’s band, completed by guitarist Erik Litstrom, will be out on the road throughout the rest of the year. With festival sets, support shows with Tom A. Smith, and their first headline shows under the Jack Valero moniker – catch the band at these dates with more to be announced:
