Spid the Spider calls on everyone to be a Planet Scout in new song and book launch
Ahead of World Cleanup Day on Saturday 16th September, Spid the Spider releases a new song, music video and book calling on everyone to champion a litter-and-polution-free world and to do their bit to save our planet. His campaign to ‘save our planet and species from plastic’ on change.org has so far amassed over 2,000 supporters (https://chng.it/PXFPfcJ6).
Spid’s latest song and music video is called ‘Plan-it Earth’. It is a folksy tune which extols everyone to ‘just get up, out and about, be a planet scout, and take time to bellow, and time to shout’. This song features in Spid’s latest children’s adventure, Spid the Spider Helps Save the Planet. In the story, Spid is horrified to realise that ‘the water’s brown, and the sky is falling down’, that littering and rubbish aren’t just a problem for him, they are a problem for the whole planet. So he decides to do something about it … Listen to the song and watch the music video on You Tube (https://youtu.be/fJ1_ydfb6hk).
Spid will also be picking up litter on World Cleanup Day, and encourages everyone to join him. Clean ups are planned in 180 countries and it is expected that 60million people will be joining in. Spid will be in French Weir Park in Taunton from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 16th September. If you can’t join the Taunton Cleanup, then please join a clean up near your home. (see links below)
Says Heidi Solba, President, Let’s Do It World, who lead the World Cleanup Day, “If everyone looked after their part of the world, we’d live on a cleaner and greener planet, and be healthier as a result. Inspiring stories provide the best education! Spid’s powerful story teaches children about the environmental problems facing our world and empowers them to take action to ensure its wellbeing.”
