GB NEWS SECURES TRIPLE WIN AT INDUSTRY OSCARS

GB News is celebrating a hat-trick after scooping THREE awards at the TV and radio industry Oscars.

Camilla Tominey’s moving interview with Alastair Stewart, in which he revealed how he was living with vascular dementia, won Best Interview Of The Year.

Accepting the award, Camilla said: “As everyone knows, the best stories to tell are the ones involving human interest and people’s very personal tales.

“We were so grateful to Al for being so honest about his dementia diagnosis. We hope that the interview will raise awareness of the condition that affects one in two people in the UK.”

GB News Breakfast won best News Programme for the second year running – a stunning achievement for its presenting team Eamonn Holmes, Isabel Webster, Stephen Dixon, Anne Diamond, and Ellie Costello.

Eamonn said: “Thank you very much indeed. The quality of the opposition you’re up against says a lot really. All class programmes and that makes this that little bit more special for us.”

Stephen added: “Let me say on behalf of all of us, we are so thrilled to have won this for the second year running. So, to everyone who voted for us, thank you very much indeed and thanks to everyone who watches and listens to us.

“Those figures are growing week on week and we’re so pleased that more people are tuning in.”

Isabel Webster reacted: “I just wanted to say thank you to all of our team. We’re very small, we work our little socks off.

We thank everybody who voted for us today. Thank you so much!”

Ellie Costello said: “Thank you to our small and mighty team and honestly we mean it when we say that the audience is at the heart of absolutely everything that we do. It means so much that the audience voted for us for the second year running.

“They clearly like what we do and we promise we’re going to keep doing it. Thank you very much.”

And there was success too for Nigel Farage who, for the second year running, won News Presenter of the Year. His colleague Eamonn was also nominated in that category.

Nigel, who stepped away from his GB News prime-time programme after announcing he was standing as a candidate in Clacton in the General Election, said: “GB News is now here to stay as a mainstream broadcaster in this country, and thank goodness for that. Sadly, my TV career has been somewhat curtailed because I have another mission coming up on the fourth of July.”

Commenting on the wins, GB News Editorial Director Mick Booker said: “GB News continues to go from strength to strength and this remarkable triple win is a huge testament to that.

“The growth of The People’s Channel is truly unstoppable and we are very grateful to the people who took the time to vote for us. Next stop July 4 and the biggest and best election coverage.”

The TRIC awards – now in their 55th year – took place in The Great Room at the Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane in London today and was hosted by Roman Kemp.
