MOVE OVER CHRISTMAS SANDWICH. THERE’S A NEW KID IN TOWN
Wild Turkey Bourbon has teamed up with London legend Max Halley, owner of the eponymous Max’s Sandwich Shop in Crouch Hill for the second year in a row, to unveil the ultimate fusion; giving diners the best of both celebrations.
The collaboration comes as new research from Wild Turkey Bourbon has revealed almost a third of Brits would rather finish their Christmas dinner with Pumpkin Pie – rather than the traditional Christmas pudding. The much-maligned Christmas pud is losing out to the lighter option from across the pond in the battle of Thanksgiving vs Christmas dinner.
The ‘Season for Giving’ bring together the best of Thanksgiving to the world of seasonal sandwiches combining the most popular bits of Thanksgiving dinner with Christmas classics in what could be London’s most unique celebratory sarnie.
Bringing together Wild Turkey’s history as a classic American brand and one of London’s most iconic sandwich experts is the perfect fusion of both holidays, whilst providing a drink that stands the test of time and pairs perfectly with the flavours of the season in the Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned.
The sandwich combines succulent brined turkey schnitzel, shredded sprouts, green bean salad, toasted pecans with a zesty apple, parsley and orange salad with crunchy sage and onion croutons and finished with cranberry and mustard ranch for the ultimate crossover.
Alongside the sandwich, customers will receive a free Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned as part of the Thanksgiving celebration, creating one of London’s best seasonal meal deals and the perfect blend between a timeless classic cocktail and the bold flavours of Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is gaining popularity across the UK, with 46% of Brits responding that they would like to attend Thanksgiving celebrations this year, whilst mashed potatoes and sweet potato are the Thanksgiving dishes that Brits would like to add to their Christmas dinner. Other popular thanksgiving dishes include pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole.
Speaking on the partnership, Max Halley said, “It’s a pleasure to partner with Wild Turkey again, this year we have taken things up a notch, combining Thanksgiving to celebrate Wild Turkey’s American roots with Christmas”.
“I’ve had such fun working out how we can fuse these two celebrations and fuse ingredients like green bean salad with sage and onion stuffing and it’s fair to say I’m over the moon with the results”
“The only way to make it better is with a Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned and the good news is that we have them too. I can’t wait to see people flocking to the shop to taste my latest creation”.
The ‘Season for Giving’ Sandwich will be available from Max’s Sandwich Shop for £12.95 from Thursday 28th November until Saturday 30th.
