LA GOCCIA PRESENTS: A NIGHT OF ITALIAN INDULGENCE WITH DANILO CORTELLINI

On Friday 13th December, La Goccia, the laid-back yet vibrant offering from Petersham Nurseries, will welcome the renowned chef Danilo Cortellini from Abruzzo for an unforgettable one-night-only takeover.

Guests can expect bold Italian flavours, a buzzing atmosphere with DJs spinning tracks into the night, and drinks designed to match the energy of the evening. Alongside the delicious dishes, guests can sip their way through La Goccia’s cocktail menu – which is a playful nod to Italian traditions, reimagined with sustainable flair. The cocktail menu showcases locally sourced ingredients, bold Mediterranean flavours, and an ethos that champions some of the most eco-conscious spirits in the industry. With many of the spirits sourced from B Corp-certified brands, each sip supports a brighter, greener future.

The evening kicks off with Marinated Red Prawn, Burrata, and Puntarelle Salad – which is fresh, flavourful, and completely irresistible. Next up is the showstopper Uovo in Raviolo San Domenico, featuring a delicate yolk-filled raviolo with ricotta, spinach, and a generous shave of seasonal truffle.

For the main event, guests can expect Roasted Lamb with Pumpkin Puree, Radicchio Tardivo, and Coffee, where tradition meets a modern twist. Dessert will be a Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Tiramisu, served family-style. In celebration of traditional Italian hospitality, Chef Danilo will personally serve portions tableside, adding a touch of theatre and warmth to the evening.

Chef Danilo Cortellini brings over 20 years of experience to La Goccia’s kitchen. His illustrious career includes a decade as Head Chef at the Italian Embassy in London, where he crafted meals for distinguished guests, drawing on his roots from Abruzzo’s culinary traditions. A finalist in MasterChef: The Professionals and a familiar face from BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, Danilo has earned a reputation for blending Michelin-starred precision with heartfelt, traditional Italian flavours.

Danilo comments, “This event at La Goccia celebrates Italian tradition and innovation. Sharing dishes that reflect my upbringing and years of professional experience in such a beautiful setting is a joy. I look forward to welcoming guests to an evening of authentic flavours.”

The four-course tasting menu is priced at £75 per person, with an optional wine pairing available. Spaces for this unique event are limited, so early booking is highly recommended.
