FLEXIBLE WORKSPACE PILOTS INNOVATIVE OFFICE CANINE CRÈCHE TO GIVE WELLBEING BENEFITS TO WORKERS

An office canine crèche is being piloted to offer workers the chance to bring their furry friends to work without having to worry about looking after them as part of plans to aid wellbeing in the workplace.

Beton by Spacemade, the fastest growing flexible workspace provider in the UK, has today announced the pilot ahead of Blue Monday after taking inspiration from a Dogs Trust and YouGov study1, citing that spending time with dogs can reduce stress and boost positive mental wellbeing. The study found that 84% of people claim to feel more positive after spending time with a dog, while 81% claimed that their dog plays a crucial role in supporting their mental health.

While all Spacemade locations are already dog-friendly, the workspace operator decided to go one step further with this pilot at Beton by Spacemade, meaning workers can carry on with their to-do lists safe in the knowledge that their dog is being well looked after. 

With Blue Monday widely known as the ‘most depressing day of the year’, the new initiative provides a paw-sitive environment for office and coworkers, whether they own a dog themselves or not. Even for those without pets, the uplifting presence of dogs in the workplace fosters a sense of community, sparking natural conversations and meaningful connections as workers take a break from their desks to relax and interact with the pooches, creating a unique, stress-relieving environment for everyone.
