GB News is celebrating another landmark moment in its unstoppable growth – after scooping TWO major accolades at the 2025 Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards.
In a significant victory, GB News Breakfast was named Best Breakfast Show for the third consecutive year.
The show triumphed over BBC News at Six, ITV’s Good Morning Britain, and ITV Evening News at a glittering ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor House.
Fronted by Eamonn Holmes, Ellie Costello, Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond, GB News Breakfast’s stunning hat-trick , cements its status as the nation’s leading morning programme.
But the success didn’t stop there.
GB News national reporter Charlie Peters was awarded News Presenter of the Year, beating high-profile contenders including the BBC’s Fiona Bruce and ITV’s Susanna Reid.
Charlie was recognised for his groundbreaking investigative reporting on grooming gang scandals across the UK, work that has given a voice to dozens of survivors. His fearless journalism was credited by Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch as a catalyst for Labour leader Keir Starmer’s decision to support a full national inquiry.
Accepting his award, Peters dedicated the win “to the victims,” adding emotionally: “The fight for justice must go on – and it will.”
Commenting on the channel’s double victory, GB News Head of Programming Ben Briscoe, said:
“GB News Breakfast is the fastest growing breakfast show in the UK. Now it’s defined itself as Britain’s favourite morning news programme.
“It’s fiery, fearless and always entertaining. Eamonn, Ellie, Anne and Stephen provide a disruptive and entertaining alternative in the morning. I am so proud of the team that works tirelessly everyday.
“Charlie’s award is a powerful tribute to his relentless reporting on issues others have too often ignored. His journalism has brought truth, accountability, and above all, hope.
“Huge credit must go to the entire GB News team, both on and off screen, for their commitment to fearless journalism that’s now reshaping British broadcasting. People said we wouldn’t last. Four years on from launching we’re winning the biggest Awards.”
