During the episode, inventor Dr Samuel Bailey from Hammersmith pitches the innovative detection device that protects lives when cooking to Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies and Steven Bartlett.
Pippa makes residents and property safer by monitoring cooking hazards using an intelligent temperature sensor and thermal imaging and alerting you when there is a risk of fire. The AI-powered thermal imaging device keeps a constant watch on your stove.
Inventor Samuel Bailey is excited about Pippa’s potential, be that at home, in care settings or across social and private housing. ”Cooking fires are a massive hidden danger in the home. Cooking starts around half of all house fires, and a near miss is often a reason to put an elderly person in to care, costing their families, and the government, huge amounts of money. Pippa is a huge leap forward in kitchen safety, providing an extra layer of safety on top of smoke alarms, which can false alarm and be slow to respond to real fires. Pippa is a great enabler of independent living amongst elderly and vulnerable communities in particular, keeping a literal eye on their stoves. I’m so pleased to be in this series of Dragons’ Den and can’t wait for the episode to air. I firmly believe Pippa is the future and will be in every home + residential care setting in a few years.”
