New Solution to Transform the Graduate Recruitment Process Launches

  • Gradhire, a video-based recruitment platform, has launched with the aim of transforming graduate recruitment across the UK.

The platform, available online or as a mobile app, provides a simple-to-use tool which streamlines the entire recruitment process for both employers and graduates. David Heron, Founder of Gradhire, has spent over 25 years in the recruitment industry and noted that traditional recruitment methods do not support the successful hiring of graduates.

David states that the current methods used for graduate recruitment are ‘time consuming’, ‘costly’ and ‘do not support the effective matching of talent to roles’. This is supported by research carried out by Universities UK that states that 30% of graduates are misplaced in roles, representing over 100,000 graduates who enter the wrong type of role every year. Gradhire aims to eliminate all of these issues and provide an improved solution to graduate recruitment.

Graduates promote themselves to prospective employers by creating an online CV profile and answering a selection of pre-set video interview questions to present both their hard and soft skills. Employers can then really get behind the graduate’s profile to better assess their skills and motivations and see what makes them ‘tick’. This avoids the risk of graduates being placed in roles that don’t match their skills.

When a business identifies their ideal graduate, they can purchase credits to invite them to review their opportunity and company profile which can also be supported by video introductions. Credits range from £7.50 to £20 charged when the graduate responds to the invitation, a significant saving compared to the current average cost per hire of £3,383 as cited by the Institute of Student Employers (ISE).

David Heron, Founder of Gradhire, states:

“Having handled many graduate roles during my recruitment career one of my biggest frustrations is seeing candidates entering into the wrong roles having worked so hard to graduate.

“By flipping the recruitment process on its head, businesses are now able to assess a graduates hard and soft skills to really understand what drives and motivates them to ensure they are recruiting the right graduates for their hiring needs.”
