West End Star Roger Wright Joins His Good Friend Heather Mills to support The Free Vegan Festival Coming To Birmingham
Birmingham is set to welcome one of the UK’s biggest free lifestyle events this spring, as Vegfest Free arrives at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Saturday April 25th.
Expected to attract thousands of visitors from across the Midlands and beyond, this one day event offers a vibrant introduction to plant-based living – whether you are vegan, curious, or simply love great food and a good day out.
With free entry (advance ticket required), visitors can enjoy a packed programme of food, entertainment, expert talks and live performances in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
West End performer Roger Wright to headline live entertainment
A highlight for Birmingham audiences is Roger Wright the celebrated West End performer best known for being the first and most powerful performer in his role as Simba in The Lion King and for leading performances in the global hit show Thriller Live and Marvin Gaye amongst numerous other hits.
Roger brings a wealth of stage experience and vocal talent to Vegfest Free, delivering a live performance that promises to be one of the key moments of the day.
He joins a diverse entertainment line-up hosted by punk icon and author John Robb, alongside musicians, poets, comedians and spoken word artists, with world music sounds from the resident DJ keeping the energy high throughout the event.
The day also features an impressive programme of talks and discussions designed to inform and inspire.
Entrepreneur Heather Mills, backing the event through her food brand No Bloat, will deliver a keynote speech at 1.30pm exploring how global events are affecting the rise of plant-based living.
Film director Dan Richardson will host a fireside chat in the Plant-Based Lifestyles Talks Room, sharing insights from his documentary Food For Thought.
Visitors can also enjoy:
A live food demonstration with chef Edward Daniel, showing how to make vegan cheeses.
A nutrition panel featuring experts from Plant-Based Health Professionals UK.
A talk from former professional footballer Simon Clist on the benefits of plant-based diets.
An inspiring session from world champion powerlifter Pat Reeves, aged 80 and a multiple cancer survivor.
Adding to the programme, the newly launched Vegan Women’s Club will host an informal session inviting women to connect, share and be part of a growing supportive community.
Comedy fans are also in for a treat, with award-winning comedians Ishi Khan and Dawn Chorus bringing humour to the day’s line-up.
