GB News has outperformed Sky News for the tenth consecutive month, according to the latest viewing figures from BARB.

In April, the People’s Channel recorded an average audience of 89,500 viewers, delivering a 1.59% share. This places GB News 3.9% ahead of Sky News, which drew 86,200 viewers (1.53% share).

This latest result caps a strong 10-month run for GB News, during which it has consistently outperformed Sky News and, across the period as a whole, averaged ahead of both Sky News and the BBC News Channel.

Between July 2025 and April 2026, GB News averaged 90,300 viewers (1.47% share), comfortably ahead of the BBC News Channel’s 83,900 (1.37%) and Sky News’ 72,000 (1.18%), leaving its competitors trailing behind.

GB News’ April success came amid a particularly frenetic period for breaking news.

The People’s Channel led the way with its reports on major stories including the antisemitic attacks in Golders Green, the King and Queen’s US tour, and the ongoing fallout from the Peter Mandelson scandal.

Ben Briscoe, Head of Programming and Talent at GB News, said: “GB News is coming out on top because we are delivering distinctive coverage across TV, radio and online.

“We have firmly established ourselves as the home of breaking news and the destination viewers now turn to for authoritative coverage of the biggest stories.”
