New research reveals that Taylor Swift is the most photographed artist at Wembley Stadium.

Memory curation app Popsa analysed millions of customer photos taken between 2022 and 2025 to find which musical artists inspired fans to snap the most at the UK’s largest and most iconic live music venue. Using location metadata, Popsa assigned each artist a Photo Index Score to reflect the relative volume of photos taken there compared with other artists, with the highest-scoring artist set as the benchmark.

Taylor Swift claims the number one spot with a top score of 100 – ahead of any rivals by a considerable margin. Her record-breaking Eras Tour occupied Wembley for eight nights across June and August 2024 – more than any other city on the tour – drawing an estimated 720,000 fans. Special guests included Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine, and a surprise appearance from fiancé Travis Kelce – photo-worthy moments that fans would have been mad to miss.

Harry Styles comes in second place with a score of 71. His Love On Tour ran at Wembley Stadium for six nights across 2022 and 2023, and had a number of photo-essential moments – fan interactions, statement stage outfits (including that red heart-print Gucci jumpsuit) and legendary special guests including Stevie Nicks and Shania Twain. As his new Together, Together tour returns to Wembley for a record-breaking 12 nights, he may soon be in contention for the top spot.

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran came in third (66), with five sold-out shows on the Mathematics Tour, where he performed in the round at the heart of the stadium. Despite a stripped-back set-up of just a guitar and loop pedal, guest appearances from Sam Smith, Stormzy and Burna Boy kept fans engaged – and snapping – throughout.

Ranked fourth with a score of 59, Canadian singer The Weeknd set a Wembley record for the highest single-day concert attendance at 87,000 fans. His After Hours til Dawn Tour brought a cinematic spectacle to the stadium, complete with a 180ft LED wall, an inflatable moon, and a chrome mask designed as a tribute to the late MF DOOM – ensuring cameras were out from the first note.

A number of notable rock artists and bands feature in the top 10 with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band appearing highest at fifth on the list, and American punks Green Day at eighth.

One of the study’s surprising findings was Coldplay ranking ninth despite playing Wembley more than almost anyone else. The explanation is straightforward: Chris Martin regularly stops shows mid-song to encourage fans to put their phones away and stay present in the moment. It’s a similar situation for twelfth placed Oasis; despite huge popularity for their reunion tour, Liam Gallagher had publicly stated about his hatred for phones at gigs as “people aren’t in the moment”. Their fans clearly took note of this and focused more on watching rather than capturing.

“Wembley is where music history is made – and this data shows exactly which artists currently compel their fans most to preserve those memories. Taylor Swift’s dominance is remarkable, but there are fascinating stories throughout the list: from Westlife’s torch-lit ‘You Raise Me Up’ to Coldplay’s anti-phone philosophy. Analysing real fan behaviour through the live music memories they’ve captured gives an insight that ticket sales alone never could.” – Liam Houghton, Popsa CEO.
