Staff and residents at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home in Bushey are celebrating the long service of two valued members of the Barchester team, Margaret Sheeran and Michael Hall, who together have achieved an impressive 25 years of service.

Margaret Sheeran, Laundry Assistant at Bushey House, is celebrating 15 years at the home. Margaret had not worked before joining Barchester and first spotted the job advertised in her local paper shop at the post office. She decided to apply and initially joined the team as a bank member of staff before being offered a permanent contract, working five days a week.

Fifteen years later, Margaret remains a much-loved member of the Bushey House team. One of the things she enjoys most about her role is spending time talking to residents, listening to their stories and, importantly, making sure they are happy with their laundry. Her years at the home have also brought lasting friendships, including meeting her best friend, Susan Worth, which Margaret describes as one of her favourite memories.

When asked to sum up her 15 years at Bushey House in just two words, Margaret simply said: “Happy days.”

Also celebrating a significant milestone is Michael Hall, Senior Divisional Clinical Lead Nurse, who has achieved 10 years with Barchester.

Michael joined the organisation as a Clinical Development Nurse with responsibility for a region before progressing to Divisional Clinical Lead Nurse. More recently, he was promoted to Senior Divisional Clinical Lead Nurse, taking on a wider leadership role within Barchester’s national clinical team.

Reflecting on his career, Michael said: “Celebrating ten years with Barchester is a milestone that fills me with immense pride and gratitude. Throughout my time here, I have been passionate about strengthening clinical practice and helping colleagues deliver the highest standards of care.

“Person-centred care has always been at the heart of my work. Every resident deserves care that recognises their individuality and safeguards their dignity, and this principle continues to guide me every day. Barchester has given me the opportunity to grow while helping others develop, and I feel privileged to be part of an organisation whose values I share.”

Mary Jane Bague, General Manager at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home, said: “We are incredibly proud to celebrate Margaret and Michael’s long service. Margaret has been part of life at Bushey House for 15 years and is a valued member of our team. She takes great pride in her work and has built some wonderful relationships with our residents and colleagues over the years.

“Michael’s career progression over the past decade is also a fantastic achievement and demonstrates the opportunities available within Barchester. Although Margaret and Michael have very different roles, they share the same commitment to our residents and to providing the very best standards of care and support. We congratulate them both on this wonderful milestone.”

Adele Keenan, Employee Services Director at Barchester, said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Margaret and Michael have achieved these milestones. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with the best possible care.”

Together, Margaret and Michael’s 25 years of service reflect the many different people and roles that contribute to life at Barchester – from the colleagues who support residents every day within their home to those helping to lead and develop clinical excellence across the organisation.
