A new category of home energy generation opens in Great Britain today as British-owned solar company UKSOL launches its Plug-In Solar Pro range following the introduction of the new framework for plug-in solar.

UKSOL became the first company to secure formal “Compliant” listings for plug-in solar systems on the ENA Connect Direct register ahead of the opening of the new market.

That first-mover position has since expanded, with seven UKSOL Plug-In Solar Pro systems now formally marked “Compliant”.

As of 26 August 2026, the ENA plug-in solar register contained 24 listed devices. Seven UKSOL systems were marked “Compliant”, while the remaining 17 devices were marked “Non-compliant” at the time of checking.

From today, households in Great Britain can begin using compliant plug-in solar systems to generate some of their own electricity through comparatively small solar installations connected to their homes.

The launch follows an extraordinary period of national interest in plug-in solar.
UKSOL Founder and CEO Andrew Moore appeared live on Good Morning Britain from UKSOL’s residential demonstration house this morning, following appearances on ITV News and BBC One’s The One Show.

Andrew has also discussed the launch on BBC Radio Oxford, while major launch-day coverage has now appeared on BBC News and in The Times, alongside extensive national, consumer and specialist reporting.
