A third of foreign countries download UK based websites quicker than UK residents

A third of foreign countries download UK based websites quicker than UK residents and it could be costing UK business billions of pounds’ a year in lost revenue…..

Travel website www.holidaysplease.co.uk analysed 5.5 million interactions on their website over a 3-year period and found that out of the 80 countries that regularly visited their site, 26 downloaded the content quicker than UK visitors. This is despite the fact that the Holidaysplease website is hosted in Manchester.

10 countries actually managed to download the content in half the time of UK visitors. These included countries such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine and Malta. The 26 countries that were quicker than the UK were on average 1,300 miles away from the UK.
