Always been lucky in love? You’re missing out. Introducing the #DatingTwitter Advice Bureau
Fed up with Valentine’s Day? Twitter presents the #DatingTwitter Advice Bureau, an immersive experience which celebrates the ups, downs and in the middles of modern dating – the perfect alternative to an overpriced Valentine’s dinner in town
Celebrating the internet’s greatest Tweets on the topic of love and romance, the #DatingTwitter Advice Bureau will open in London’s Covent Garden from Thursday February 13th, offering a walk through guide to the reality of dating, relationships, romance and singledom in the digital age. Taking inspiration from Twitter users around the world, the Bureau brings the internet’s greatest impractical tips, embarrassing confessions and outrageous overshares found on Twitter to life.
Visitors can hone their dating nous through semi-educational and entirely uninformative installations inspired by some of the funniest and most relatable Tweets on dating, including:
-
The ghosting graveyard – a haunting tribute to the memory of DMs and dates who disappeared suddenly
-
Gallery of Awkward Silences – listen in on conversations gone wrong without having to pretend you’re looking at your phone
-
Giant swipe simulator – master the swipe right and ‘thank u, next’ scroll. Basically your phone, but bigger
-
Wheel of Misfortune – spin the wheel to predict the outcome of your next date
-
Running date simulator – jog-along with a virtual date
-
‘I Stand Alone’ – make a heroic statement of your proud singledom in the mini photo studio
-
Relationship wall – where tweeters share hilarious observations from different stages of their relationships
-
Big Red Flag – it’s a big red flag
The #DatingTwitter Advice Bureau features Twitter’s most relatable, raw, and witty dating stories. The most hilarious, honest and real accounts of dating aren’t those found in magazines, romcoms or on the apps, but within the #DatingTwitter conversation. Featuring Tweets from people around the world, each piece of advice has been hand-picked from the millions of straight-talking Tweets tackling the thorny issue of dating in the modern world.
If you’ve ever lived to tell the tale of a bad date, cringeworthy pickup line or regrettable snog at the N9 bus stop in Trafalgar Square with chicken & chips in hand (just us?) then the #DatingTwitter Advice Bureau is probably for you. Even if you can’t relate to any of this, you might just enjoy laughing at the funniest Tweets about other people’s luck, or lack thereof, in love. The perfect Valentine’s date for you and your mate, or you and your other half, even if ‘it’s complicated’. All relationship statuses welcome.
