Later-living provider Anchor has officially marked the opening of its new development The Wharf in Rochester, Kent.
The Wharf opened its doors to the public for the first time to offer the community and potential buyers a taste of life at the new development. Guests were able to view a selection of homes, comprising a range of contemporary two and three-bedroom apartments designed and future-proofed exclusively for the over-55s. As well as viewing the apartments and new communal areas, attendees enjoyed refreshments and had the opportunity to speak with Anchor colleagues to discover more about the support and services provided at the location.
The two and three-bedroom apartments at The Wharf have been carefully designed to create independent living spaces both inside and out; each apartment has its own balcony or terrace.
Future residents will benefit from on-site facilities such as a hair and beauty salon, landscaped gardens and a stylish residents’ lounge.  All new homes can be found within walking distance of nearby shops and amenities.

Sandra Walters, Sales Consultant at Anchor said: “We are excited to formally mark the official opening of The Wharf, a development that has proven so popular, 30% of homes are already reserved. We hope this event gave guests a great taste of what life is like at this unique and vibrant community. Making decisions about moving home can be challenging, but our goal is to make the process as worry-free as possible, providing support and answers for prospective buyers and a wealth of amenities and onsite facilities for our residents.

It’s an important time as we open our doors to welcome new residents and ensure they receive the very best service, as we take the first steps in creating a new community where people will love living in later life.”

Riverside living and excellent amenities make Rochester and The Wharf the perfect place for later living. As part of Rochester Riverside’s wider regeneration programme, the area will soon benefit from new public open spaces, retail and leisure facilities and improvements to gateways between the river and the High Street.
