Andy King’s Fairytale Wedding in Scotland—A Viral Love Story Comes Full Circle
Andy King, the beloved event producer, sustainability advocate, and pop culture icon from Netflix’s FYRE documentary, is getting married! After six years of love and adventure, Andy is set to wed his longtime partner, Craig McBain, in a romantic ceremony at a historic Scottish castle on June 14th, 2025.
Their love story is the kind that only happens in movies—or in this case, on Netflix. The two first met briefly at a bar on Venice Beach, just ten minutes of conversation over lunch. Then came the FYRE documentary. Months later, Craig—back home in Scotland—was watching Netflix when he spotted a familiar face: “I met that guy,” he thought.
What followed was an unexpected, heartfelt pursuit. Craig messaged Andy on Instagram (which Andy barely knew how to use), then Facebook (which he hated), and finally, LinkedIn. That’s where Andy saw the message that started it all:
“Hi Andy, you may remember me. We met a few months ago. I think you’re really handsome. I’m not out—my family doesn’t know, my friends don’t know. But I’m coming back through California and would love to treat you to lunch. If this is creepy, please delete this message and never tell anyone I wrote to you.”
Andy didn’t delete it.
Fast forward six years, and the couple just returned from a special trip to Scotland to share the engagement news with Craig’s family—and lock in their fairytale venue. Photos of their visit, moments with family, and a sneak peek at the castle are available upon request.
