AnnaKennedyOnline is rooting for Anne Hegerty in I’m a Celeb
Anna Kennedy Online are rooting for Anne Hegerty for raising Autism awareness and acceptance on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!
Anne’s candid conversation about the condition, which isn’t often talked about on television, led to so many people searching for what is Autism , diagnosis etc online that the National Autistic Society’s website crashed.
Anne discussed her autism diagnosis during the launch on Sunday evening, having previously opened up on the show and said: “When you’ve grown up always knowing that there’s something that seemed to be different about you from most people and not being able to understand until my mid-forties that what we were talking about here was autism, I’ve had to learn an awful let about myself and what I can and can’t do and what I can or can’t cope with. At the moment I’m quietly panicked.”
Anna Kennedy OBE Founder of the UK Autism charity AnnaKennedyonline said “This is a great platform for Anne to raise awareness. It also shows that when Anne is on ‘The Chase’ she is so in her comfort zone however, in a different environment its taking her a while to adapt and process what is going on around her.”
She added “Anne on the programme is showing her vulnerable side which is good so that the public can appreciate how autism can affect an individual. The jungle environment will also be affecting her senses, smell, touch, taste, sound etc”
She added “It is getting the public talking and we at the charity are supporting Anne 100%”
