Atomic Kitten star in Paddy Power spoof clip ahead of England game

Atomic Kitten have been ‘defrosted’ for an emergency performance ahead of England’s clash against France tonight.

The 90s hitmakers star in Paddy Power’s latest World Cup video.

And the tongue-in-cheek piece sees sirens go off in a secret undercover laboratory after technicians realise England have made it into the quarter final of the World Cup.

Skipping the suggestion that the red alert means it’s time to to de-ice Michael Bublé for Christmas… again, the clip instead sees a pair of lab assistants make a beeline for the girl group.

“It’s England. They’re in the quarter final of the World Cup,” one says.

“It’s time to bring the country together again,” the other adds, as he inserts the secret code.

Extreme scenarios require extraordinary responses.

And thawing out the girl-group, whose hit song, Whole Again has been reclaimed by football supporters who have taken to belting out Southgate, You’re the One, is clearly the only sane response as they a bid to offer Southgate and co a last-ditch surge of support in the hours in advance of the crunch quarter final clash.

But, in Paddy Power’s typically irreverent fashion, while the nation waits nervously for kick off, Natasha Hamilton jokes that’s she’s more interested in “making some cash” off the back of the Three Lions success.

En route to their thawed-out debut, Hamilton and bandmate Liz McClarnon ask to be caught up on what they’ve missed while in hibernation.

17 months is a long time…three Prime Ministers, in fact – since they were last rolled out during EURO 2020.

With a sudden jolt, the girls realise their third group member, Jenny Frost, isn’t with them. But the lab worker explains that she’s “ironically” still defrosting.

With Atomic Kitten back out into the world, another alarm sounds at the facility: the Bublé alarm.

“It gets earlier every f*cking year!” one of the workers complains as they go to let “Bubes” out of his holding facility.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Ex-bandmate Kerry Katona isn’t the only one who knows her way around a frozen section. The band have been tucked away nicely, ready for this moment, so now it’s time for England to put in a performance that equals the genius of replacing the word ‘baby’ with ‘Southgate’ in Whole Again.”

The video can be viewed on Paddy Power’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube channels.
