AYLESBURY COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS SECURES FUNDING FROM LOCAL HOUSEBUILDER

Local housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes has recently supported Aylesbury’s Community Workshops, formally known as Men in Sheds. The housebuilder, who is building its Kingsbrook development nearby on Broughton Crossing, Aylesbury, has made a £1000 donation to the charity to help fund hands-on projects in the local area.

Formed in November 2012, Aylesbury Community Workshops gives local people who have experienced life-changing events such as redundancy, bereavement or ill-health a place to meet, socialise and get involved in their local community. The housebuilder’s donation has gone towards supplies to help the group continue its important work.

Karly Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt David Wilson North Thames, commented: “The Aylesbury Community Workshops initiative is clearly vital to the local area, with the organisation helping to tackle isolation and mental health stigma that is still prevalent in society today. We are really pleased our donation has helped support the charity in its work and look forward to seeing the group back together and creating new pieces for Aylesbury!”

Glynn Fox Pearson, Chair at Aylesbury Community Workshops, said: “As an entirely independent organisation, we are very grateful for the donation from Barratt David Wilson Homes to help fund our work in the local community. We undertake diverse projects and commissions with a focus on woodwork, metalworks, electronics and repair so donations help towards materials and resources to complete these.”

Barratt David Wilson North Thames is currently building a selection of three and four bedroom homes at Kingsbrook in Aylesbury, with prices starting from £374,995 for a three-bedroom home.
