Barratt London supports Roald Dahl Children’s nurses
Barratt London recently donated £2,500 to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. The donation will ensure that the charity can continue its work in partnership with the NHS, providing care to seriously ill children, young people, and their families.
Today, over 100,000 children are living with complex and lifelong illnesses across the UK. Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity works in partnership with the NHS to provide extra support and care for these children and their families. The charity provides dedicated specially trained nurses to those families who require their services. Over the last three decades, they have established 82 Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses in the areas of greatest need across the UK.
Louise Griew, Chief Executive at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity comments: “Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses are a vital lifeline, providing support both clinically and emotionally to seriously ill children, and their families, throughout their youth and often into adulthood. This funding will be hugely beneficial as it will enable us to continue offering training opportunities to our nurses and ensure that the best practice is shared across the Roald Dahl Nurse network.”
The donation was made as a part of Barratt London’s Community Fund, which allows the housebuilder to donate £1,000 each month to a local charity working to improve the quality of life for those living in their area. Through this scheme, Barratt London seeks to support charities and organisations local to their developments in order to help preserve communities and give back to those most in need.
Pam Reardon, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt East London, comments: “The need for nursing care never stops, so we wanted to do our part to help Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity continue to provide much-needed support to children and their families. Roald Dahl Nurses are key to the transition of care from child to adult services. We are proud to be able to support a charity that provides care for communities across the country.”
