BEANZ MEANZ (Bethany) ENGLAND – Heinz flies Mum & Beanz over to Aus
Amidst the England women’s team celebrations for securing a spot in the last 16 of the world’s biggest female football tournament and getting even closer to actually ‘bringing it home’, Heinz has teamed up with one player’s mum to go the extra mile – or air mile – ensuring her daughter’s favourite pre-match meal is with her over in Australia and New Zealand.
Lisa England, Mum of England forward, Bethany England, has been spotted on the Heinz Instagram and on YouTube this afternoon crossing borders with a distinctive package – a bright Heinz Beanz blue suitcase adorned with the iconic Heinz keystone. With Bethany currently busy putting her best foot forward, Heinz has ensured her mum will be there to cheer her on by surprising her daughter with one of the footballer’s all-time favourite foods, all the way from the UK.
On the run up to the much-anticipated 2023 tournament, Heinz teamed up with Bethany England following revelationsduring last year’s success, that her favourite pre-match dish was none other than beans on toast.[1]
With the competition now picking up pace, Heinz has reaffirmed its dedication to helping fuel Bethany, by working with Bethany’s mum to make sure they keep bringing the bean power to the game.
Speaking of Bethany and her utter love for beans, Lisa England, said: “I’m so proud of Bethany and the entire team for getting through to the last 16. And when Heinz suggested she might be missing both her mum and her favourite pre-match meal, I jumped at the chance to bring Bethany her favourite beans down-under.
“She’s always been a simple food kind of child, so beans on toast was a staple meal for her growing up. Even in her younger years she would have beans on toast as a pre-match meal, and now it’s stuck with her.
“She’s a total home bird, so she’ll be over the moon that I’m able to bring her some home comforts to help power her through the next game. We really do love beans in our family, and of course, when it comes to beans, it has to be Heinz!”
Sophie Higgins, Head of Growth Platform, New Ventures at Heinz said: “We’re so excited to be working with Lisa and taking our collaboration one step further by physically bringing our Heinz Beanz to her in Australia and New Zealand. We love how much the whole England family are fans of our beans, so it’s a natural partnership for us.”
Lucy Cooke, Marketing Manager, at Heinz Beanz adds: “We’d hate for Bethany not to have her favourite pre-match beans on toast before the next big game. And Beanz Meanz Heinz! So, it made total sense to help get Lisa over to Adelaide with a suitcase of our beans to surprise Bethany with. We can’t wait to see the power of the humble bean driving her through the rest of the championship! Come on England!”
