British Independent The Camden Watch Company Featured in New Virgin Media Small Business Advertising Campaign

The Camden Watch Company, an independent British brand based in the heart of Camden founded by wife and husband team Anneke Short and Jerome Robert, stars in Virgin Media’s Small Business “Faster Brings Us Closer” video advertising campaign, launching today.

The advert, which also showcases small businesses Salut Wines and Ultra Education, reveals how ultrafast and reliable connectivity has supported many startups and small businesses during the toughest of years and shares each company’s story and the passion that goes into their work.

Following the initial launch, the campaign will feature a longform interview with each of the businesses detailing how reliable broadband is key to the success of their business.

The Camden Watch Company, an independent British design brand founded by wife and husband Anneke Short and Jerome Robert, feature throughout the campaign in the hero advert, in imagery onsite and in digital from July, as well as having their own case study which officially launches on both Virgin Media’s platform as well as YouTube in mid-August.

Anneke and Jerome describe in the video how they went from being a pop-up, to expanding with physical stores across London and pop-ups across the rest of the UK, before suddenly having to rely solely on their online store due to the pandemic. They describe how important reliable broadband was in making sure their business stayed up and running as they were forced to close their stores.

About appearing in the campaign, Anneke Short says: “We were contacted by Virgin Media as we have been customers for six years since the start-up of our business to see if we wanted to be part of the campaign. Reliable broadband has really been integral to our business so Jerome and I thought it would be a great way to further showcase our business as well as hopefully inspire other small businesses looking for a dependable service.”

Jerome Robert says: “The past year has been a struggle for many businesses, especially independent retailers. It seemed like a natural fit for us to take part in the campaign since we solely relied on broadband to keep our online business up and running during the lockdowns.”
