British wholesaler now selling Kim K’s Met Gala look for Halloween
There’s no greater mood board for fashion inspiration than the Met Gala, a fund-raising event in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City which oozes glamour, opulence and in Kim K’s case avant-garde controversy.
Known as ‘fashions’ biggest night out’, the theme for this year’s Met Gala was ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’. Celebrating all things American, you can’t get any more American than reality star’s First Lady herself – Kim Kardashian West.
The reality star stepped out in an all-black head to toe Balenciaga ensemble accessorised with a $10,000, 75-inch-long ponytail. Showing no face, the outfit covered every inch of her body yet, the whole world knew it was her, which just shows the power she holds on the internet and in pop culture.
Kim’s faceless look was anything but incognito as her look went viral, ending up on Vogue’s best dressed list. The media storm that followed resulted in endless memes and is predicted to be one of the best pop culture Halloween costume trends this year, with searches for balaclavas soaring.
Looking for a piece of that success, Karl Baxter, Managing Director at Wholesale Clearance UK, is now selling Kim K’s Met Gala Halloween costume after purchasing XXX from a supplier who struggled to shift the stock.
The costume is comprised of an all-black mini dress, tights, gloves, cape and breathable face covering, just like Kim K’s – but for a fraction of the price.
Mr Baxter is selling the outfit for the wholesale price of £10.99 and hopes the demand will be as great as the media hype surrounding the original ensemble.
