B*witched are back with new music as they celebrate 25 years together
LEGENDARY girl band B*witched have spoken about releasing new music to celebrate 25 years in the music industry.
The band discussed their return to the music studio during Breakfast with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster on GB News.
Edele Lynch said: “The first show we did years ago when we came back after a 12-year break, Sinead was expecting the audience to be the children who used to watch her when she came out on stage, which is hilarious.
“I was 17 at the time and have now grown up, and sometimes our fans bring their kids so yeah, our music is for kids as well.”
Fellow band member Sinead O’Carroll said the group decided to release new music after recording a podcast.
“We’ve been gigging for the last 10 years but as regards new music, we did a podcast, which one of our producers heard, and it kind of reminded him of all the good times we had. And he got in touch with us, and it was just like, ‘I need to get you girls back into the studio to do new music’.”
Lindsay Armaou added: “The timing was right, because we have been gigging for the past 10 years but we’ve all been having families and some of us had family slightly later.
“So it was kind of just waiting for the right time to be able to commit to it as well, and it’s also 25 years since C’est La Vie came out.”
Asked about the new music, Edele said: “We’ve got this thing called The Collection and Birthday is also on there, it is a new single as part of the collection, so it’s available everywhere.
“And we’re just really excited to be able to bring B*witched into 2023 and our kids, we’ve got teenagers that are 14/15, have given us a thumbs up.
