CAMBRIDGESHIRE DEVELOPER WELCOMES NEW GRADUATE ON ITS ASPIRE PROGRAMME

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire has appointed a new Graduate at its head office in Peterborough.

Connor Marshall (23), from Bedfordshire, joins the team and is currently completing the ASPIRE Programme, which will allow him to experience many different areas of the industry.

Having studied Building Surveying at Sheffield Hallam University, Connor brings a wealth of skills with him and is now applying these in his role with the housebuilder.

Connor is currently completing an eight-week rotation in the construction team, in which he will come to understand how the department contributes to the overall construction process.

He said: “I applied for employment with Barratt and David Wilson Homes as the company is the market leader with an established reputation focusing on quality and sustainability, which I believe are key aspects for investing in the future. I wanted to be part of a successful organisation and all the opportunities that it provides.

“After discovering what the ASPIRE Graduate Programme entailed, I was instantly interested. As I was coming to the end of my degree, I was still unsure exactly which avenue to pursue in the diverse housebuilding industry, so the opportunity to experience multiple different disciplines sounded perfect.

“During my short time on the scheme so far, I have been within the construction discipline and have learned so much regarding the early stages of the construction phase, groundworks, foundations and drainage, in particular. Also, the communicative skills gained from working with a large range of different people has been very beneficial to my development.

“In the future I see myself still a part of the Barratt and David Wilson Homes team, hopefully within a managerial role specifically within the technical and innovation department, as I have a genuine interest in the development and creation within the future of homes.”

Daniel Evans, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “We would like to welcome Connor to the team and wish him the best of luck in his career with us.

“As a leading housebuilder in the county, we pride ourselves on not only providing a first-class service for our customers, but also ensuring we look after our staff and provide opportunities to progress within the company and achieve their ambitions.

“We are deeply committed to developing raw talent and work closely with our new employees to ensure they get the best from their new role.”
