Carters of Suffolk Launches ‘Paint Your Own’ Sessions for the Autumn/Winter Seasons
The artisan teapot pottery Carters of Suffolk – based at Stonham Barns Park – has announced the introduction of ‘Paint Your Own’ teapots and ceramics sessions both at its pottery and tearooms and in a variety of community settings.
The ‘Paint Your Own’ Sessions will take place at the pottery at Stonham Aspal with the option of seeing demonstrations of how the teapots are made from a split moulding process using earthenware clay, painted and finished by experienced painters. And for those who take on the challenge of painting there will be tea, cakes and light lunches on offer from the Teapot Pottery Tearooms.
For groups who would prefer the creative experience of painting an item within their own setting, the session can be taken out to the community. Groups who have already expressed an interest in the idea already include those covering Sheltered Homes, Care Homes and schools. It is also hoped to introduce the concept to Men’s, Women’s, Youth and Children’s Play groups.
Comments Valerie Baldry of Carters of Suffolk, ‘Painting Your Own has always been an attractive offering from the pottery – popular with both adults and children – and the idea is enjoying something of a revival in the UK – particularly during the colder months when there is less to do outdoors. It is always a truly immersive experience which means it can provide therapy to some, allowing individuals some time to think creatively, paint and de-stress all at the same time.’
‘We will be taking the ‘experience’ sessions out to groups in the community who would like to enjoy the pottery painting pastime in the comfort of their own settings – and we hope that this shares the fun around to a wider audience.’
‘It’s all very exciting. We can’t wait to lots more beautifully decorated pottery pieces!’
Prices for the sessions start at £10 per person with each item selected priced individually. All painting materials and paints are supplied. Manufacture is 8-10 days from painting to delivery
The Teapot Tearooms serve hot and cold drinks, newly introduced cream teas, cakes and light lunches. Some new additions to the menu will be introduced for the autumn including a variety of pastries, muffins, warm soup and fresh baked rolls!
The venue is a meeting place for friends and family with its own children’s play area.
The pottery’s most popular teapot designs include, The Classic British Collection, The Book Collection, The Aga Range, The Baking Range, Figurines, The Animal range and The Classic Car and Locomotive Collections.
Carters of Suffolk supplies department stores, museums, gift shops and tearooms around the UK and Europe, and online retailers including Wayfair and Etsy.
