Charlotte (5-1), Allegra (50-1), Theresa (66-1); What will PM call his new baby daughter
The Prime Minister Boris and his wife Carrie Johnson have announced the birth of their second child, a baby girl.
The couple already have a 19-month-old son, Wilf, born in April 2020, with the pair yet to reveal whether the little girl has a name yet. The PM was there throughout the birth; a brief moment of joy in an otherwise stressful period.
Bookmaker William Hill today installed Charlotte as 5-1 favourite, which would see the PM’s newborn daughter share the same Christian name as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child, and only daughter, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
Violet and Florence are locked together at 8-1, before the appearance of Olivia, the most popular girl’s name of 2021, so far, at 10-1.
Emily is offered up as an 11-1 chance, with Mia, another to feature in the top 10 baby names for girls in 2021, 12-1.
Long shots include Allegra, but its connection to recently resigned Downing Street Press Secretary Allegra Stratton, who departed in wake of a leaked Number 10 Christmas party video, is 50-1, while Theresa, the name shared by previous conservative Prime Minister Theresa May, is a 66-1 chance.
