COMMUNITY IS FLOURISHING AT OVERSTONE’S FORMER ANGLO-SAXON SETTLEMENT, SAYS TEAM LEADER
A recently promoted Team Leader at Barratt and David Wilson Homes is lifting the lid on what it’s like to work at the Overstone development with a significant historical background.
Abi Thompson, 30, has worked at Overstone Gate since it launched last October (2020) and has been thrilled to work on a unique site which goes back 4,000 years.
Before work began onsite, archaeologists uncovered the biggest Anglo-Saxon burial ground ever found in Northamptonshire as well as many other artefacts including buildings, jewellery and weapons.
With the development’s history uncovered and recorded, Barratt and David Wilson Homes is looking forward to making new memories on the historic ground and is celebrating its brand new community which is flourishing with its first residents.
Since it first opened its doors, Abi has helped 30 residents settle into their new homes at the development. She has worked for the homebuilder for four and a half years and recently celebrated being promoted from Sales Adviser to Team Leader.
Abi, from Hanslope in Milton Keynes, said: “Overstone Gate is a really unique and popular development which has definitely been a big talking point in Northamptonshire.
“My favourite part of the homebuying journey is the day of completion when you hand the keys to the customer as it’s very satisfying when they move in and are really pleased with their new home.
“I’m so pleased I received a promotion to Team Leader as I’ve worked really hard for it and have been keen to progress in my career. I now feel more empowered to make decisions that I wouldn’t have usually and I like the new day-to-day challenges that my role brings with it.”
As well as celebrating residents moving into Overstone Gate, Abi and her team recently took part in a project with Overstone Anglican Church in which they donated Bee and Butterfly Boms to residents to help encourage more nature across the local area.
Jason Hearn, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “Overstone Gate is a truly unique development and it’s great to see Abi progressing to Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day sales of our properties.
“With a second-to-none chance at being close to some fascinating history in Northamptonshire, we can see why many house hunters in the area are choosing to make the development a place to call home.”
Overstone Gate is a new community of two to five bedroom homes located on Overstone Farm. The new development will benefit from a brand new school and amenities on site.
