COMMUNITY RADIO HUB, AAJA, BROUGHT THE WHOLE NEIGHBOURHOOD TOGETHER AT CREEKSIDE FESTIVAL FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE BLOCK PARTY

AAJA, South East London’s much loved community radio station, record label and hub, curated a full, 150 strong, line-up for Creekside Festival 2024 which took place on Saturday 7 September. A day to night gathering held across 17 venues in Deptford, South East London, hosting over 1200 party-goers. This year, AAJA collaborated with The Albany Theatre for a very special after party that closed the festival on an ultimate high.

The festival is a natural progression from what AAJA has strived for and achieved over the past six years. Championing local artists and nurturing homegrown collectives. Following AAJA’s huge story of resilience following the global pandemic and displacement from their first home, the need to gather couldn’t come sooner. Creekside invites the local community, long term supporters, and big time electronic music fans to join them to enjoy the very best of hyperlocal, underground music from DJs and presenters across a wide array of electronic music all day, and all night, with a sprinkling of headliners to top it off.

From its humble beginnings in a tiny arch in Deptford to SE London’s best kept secret indoor outdoor space, The Aaja Snake Pit. Aaja is a space where you can watch and listen to live radio, while enjoying a pint and a toastie. While at the same time ending up having a dance with underground legends like Jeremry Sylvester or Ok Williams.

Comments from joint AAJA Founders, and Creekside Festival organisers, Owen & Samuel said –

“Creekside is the neighbourhood block party we always dreamed of – crews, diy radio, good food, and local businesses coming together. We get to collaborate with all of our favourite cool spaces in South East London, whilst working alongside our best friends.

Creekside was born from years of experience and experimentation within the underground music sphere and this festival shows off AAJA’s passion, resilience and drive within the hyperlocal music community – it’s a massive liberation party.”

Stay tuned for Creekside Festival 2025.
