Could children do a better job of running the world than adults?

After zany scientist Max Splatter invents a breakfast cereal designed to boost children’s brainpower, strange things start happening.

Follow three ordinary children, Patch Patterson, Fred Crosby and Romany Wishbone, as they discover astonishing new powers and begin getting their own back on the grown-ups who’ve been making their lives a misery.

When the adults begin fighting back, the kids organise a rebellion to do battle with the prime minister, George Bourne-Tarool, and the entire British army…

Cliff Martin was born in West London, close to where he lives now. He recently retired following a thirty-seven-year career in journalism, largely spent as a sub-editor on national newspapers, most recently at The Times. Cliff is married with three children, and his interests include history, Brentford FC, rambling in the West Country, pottery, cooking and bread-making.

Cliff says, “I’m certain all children feel aggrieved at the unfairness of the world and the power imbalance with adults. They will all have fantasised about living in a world where they can set the rules for themselves. Anyone who has lived through the past decade must be appalled by the calibre of many of our political leaders, the mess they’ve made of things and the divisiveness they have caused. Could a child do any worse?”
