Independent housebuilder Dandara has officially commenced construction at its Abbots Place development in the Buckinghamshire village of Wavendon.

The development of 108 energy-efficient three to five bedroom family houses, and two bedroom apartments will launch for off-plan sales before the end of this year and be available to move into in 2023. Of these, 33 will be affordable homes and 75 will be private.

Located off Lower End Road, the 7.3 acre development received Reserved Matters planning consent earlier this year. Abbots Place will support the local community, with more than £1.9 million being contributed as part of S106 agreements to schools, health services, and other local amenities.

Situated six miles outside central Milton Keynes, the homes at Abbots Place achieve an EPC rating of B thanks to a range of eco features including: insulating external doors to reduce heat loss, high energy efficiency boilers, low heat-loss hot water cylinders and kitchens and bathrooms designed with water saving features and fittings. All homes will benefit from an electric car charging point, helping to support more sustainable travel.

Rachel Pepper, Head of Sales at Dandara Northern Home Counties, said: “Buckinghamshire is a fantastic location for those looking for the countryside lifestyle whilst still being in easy reach of the Capital, so we are very excited to be expanding our presence in the area and breaking ground on this new development in Wavendon.

“With development launching off-plan this winter, the early interest for Abbots Place is already exceptionally high, reflecting the popularity of this affluent part of Buckinghamshire with both locals and those looking to relocate.

“We are proud to be creating and safeguarding local construction jobs while on site delivering this much-needed new community of affordable houses and apartments.”

The A421, which connects with the M1, is close to the site, providing fast road access across middle England and beyond. Woburn Sands train station is under two miles away, providing local services to Bletchley and Bedford. London commuters will benefit from the proximity of Milton Keynes Central railway station, which offers a frequent 38-minute service to London Euston.

Popular attractions within a 10-minute drive include the renowned Xscape, for indoor skiing and snowboarding, indoor skydiving, ten pin bowling, and trampolining. The National Bowl plays host to rock and pop star concerts. Theme parks nearby include Gulliver’s Land Resort and Gulliver’s Dinosaur and Farm Park, while Woburn Safari Park is home to more than 1,000 wild animals.

For families, there is an excellent choice of high performing Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ schools and colleges close by covering all ages. The Open University headquarters is also situated nearby in Milton Keynes.

The first release of homes will include three and five-bedroom properties, which will range from £450,000 to £695,000. For more information on the homes being built at Abbots Place and to register interest, visit www.dandara.com/abbots-place.
