Dean Windass now amongst favourites to enter the I’m A Celeb jungle
Former Hull, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough striker Dean Windass is one of the favourites to be part of this year’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here lineup.
Windass’ odds have been shortened to 6/4 making him one of the front runners to enter the jungle – and he’s one of the only stars to have his odds cut already before the show airs.
He isn’t the only famous face from the world of football rumoured to be in the lineup either, with Chris Kamara priced at EVENS and Neil Warnock getting odds of 5/2.
Recently retired ref Mike Dean is also in the running and is a clear favourite to take part, with bookmaker William Hill pricing him at 1/ 2.
Dean would be a perfect fit for the hit reality series as his referee career highlighted that he thrives in the limelight, with many incidents of him stealing the show during a match.
Former Liverpool and England forward Peter Crouch is also in the reckoning but is priced at longer odds of 5/1.
The 6ft 7’ striker has gone on to be a TV pundit for BT sports, host his own hit podcast and briefly have a series on BBC One a couple of years ago.
Actor Danny Dyer and Who Want to be a Millionaire cheat, Major Charles Ingram are priced at the same odds as Crouch to take part in this year’s show.
Manchester United and Spurs legend Teddy Sherringham has also been mentioned as a potential contestant for the hit reality series and is priced behind Crouch at 6/1.
The ex-England striker has a bit of history with reality TV shows, after appearing on another of ITV’s shows, the Masked Singer back in 2020.
Despite playing in some of the biggest games in world football during his playing career, Sherringham said appearing on the series was “Much, much, much more nerve-wracking” than anything in his football career.
Speaking on the addition, Tony Kenny – Head of Sponsorship PR at William Hill, said: “I’m a Celeb has a history of pushing stars to their limit, and it’ll be interesting to see how Dean Windass fares if he does enter the bug-infested soaring jungle this November.
“Whilst he’s proven he’s able to maintain his cool under pressure, it remains to be seen whether he can pick up where 2018 winner Harry Redknapp left off, as the king of jungle!”
