Dick & Angel Launch ‘Dare to Do It at Home’ Competitions to Lift Lockdown Spirits
Dick and Angel Strawbridge are reaching out to the nation and lifting lockdown spirits with the launch of three creative ‘Dare to Do It at Home’ competitions. The lucky winners will receive once-in-a-lifetime prizes including a night at Dick and Angel’s Chateau and the chance to earn a royalty-based income from the comfort of their own home.
The best-selling authors behind Channel 4’s hugely popular prime-time series Escape to the Chateau, and newly commissioned Dick & Angel’s Make Do and Mend (w/t), which sees the couple offering tips and tricks for families looking for imaginative ways to solve their DIY dilemmas using what they have to hand, are inviting the public to overcome a challenge or have a go at achieving something creative and inspiring.
The Wellbeing Competition asks people to share their journey through a personal transformation, a developed skill, or a challenge they’ve overcome to maintain their wellbeing, and that of their family, during these difficult times. The winner will be treated to a magical night at Dick and Angel’s fairytale home, Chateau de a la Motte Husson, staying in the gorgeous Honeymoon Suite, with a special dinner cooked and hosted by the Strawbridges.
The Literature Competition gives budding writers the opportunity to see their original work, from novellas to encyclopaedias, designed, formatted and published in print by Chateau Publishing. The winner, as voted for by the public, will generate a royalty-based income for every copy sold via thechateau.tv to which Chateau Publishing will generously match with a donation to a charity of their choice.
The Christmas Card Competition will give six lucky people the chance to earn commission on every box of their winning festive card design, inspired by The Chateau, which will be printed and sold online at thechateau.tv. Chateau Publishing will again match every royalty earned with a donation to the winner’s designated charity.
Dick and Angel say: “We all know the importance of having a project that excites us; it’s good for the soul and gives us something to look forward to. At this strange time that we find ourselves in, we’re focusing on enjoying family life, looking after ourselves and letting our creativity flow – having a project, or two, on the go keeps the grey cells active! We hope people at home will feel inspired to have a go at entering and we can’t wait to see all their fabulous ideas and achievements.”
