Danish Pastries & The Iconic Social

Ole & Steen’s signature range of Socials are a taste of Danish culture in every bite. The 19-inch layered pastries, made to be shared or enjoyed by the slice, have led the bakery to be crowned as the official “Home of the Social”: The iconic Cinnamon Social sees braided sweet soft dough pastry filled with vanilla custard and cinnamon paste and topped with icing. For an afternoon treat, the Spandauer, the Danish name for a traditional Danish Pastry with custard, is an ideal partner to a hot drink – a traditional flaky pastry with vanilla custard, sweet paste and icing (£3.95.)

Alongside its range of warming toasties and mouth-watering sandwiches, Ole & Steen also offers a selection of Open Rye sandwiches, traditionally known as Smørrebrød. A customer favourite is the Smoked Salmon Open Rye, which uses the bakery’s chia rye loaf as the base for a luxurious topping combination of smoked salmon, lemon cream cheese, pickled cucumber, fennel, dill and pink peppercorns (£5.95.)

Cosy Coffees

At Ole & Steen, Kaffe (coffee) is taken seriously – its passionate baristas are skillfully trained and coached in all aspects of crafting great specialty coffees. Whether your go-to order is a Flat White, an Americano, a Latte or a Cortado, or you fancy something extra special like the Cinnamon Social Latte, expect a base of full-flavour Colombian and Brazilian bean blends, with notes of chocolate, caramel sweetness and citrus acidity in every cup.

Unbeatable Bread

Made from scratch each night and baked fresh every morning, Ole & Steen uses traditional techniques and the finest ingredients for all its brød (bread).
